We plan and manage events of all sizes, from small meetings to major fundraisers. Highlights include:
Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Children’s Congress
For the last 16 years, Berman Events has worked closely with the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation to plan and manage its Children’s Congress, the largest grassroots event held in support of research for Type 1 diabetes. This biannual event consists of more than 150 children and teenagers representing all 50 states traveling to Washington, DC. The 2009 event included a visit with President Barack Obama at the White House, a Town Hall panel of athletes and celebrities impacted by diabetes, individual visits for each kid delegate with their senators and representatives, and a Senate hearing.
Berman Events has managed the logistics for this annual outdoor festival for the last 9 years. The festival takes place a week before Mother’s Day and includes a grand vendor marketplace as part of a day full of entertainment and give-aways. This event boasts close to 100 vendors and 3000 participants each year.
Mommy and Me
Berman Events coordinates this year-round monthly interactive community program at retail shopping centers in the Washington, DC area and Richmond, Virginia. Mommy and Me features games, crafts and educational activities for children, parents, grandparents, or other caregivers. Corporate sponsors and merchant stores also participate by hosting activities and programs.
Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration Communication Institute
In conjunction with Gallup Consulting, Berman Events handled the meeting logistics for SAMHSA’s two-day Communication Institute. More than 150 participants attended in-depth training sessions in support of the nationwide Safe Schools Healthy Students grant program.
